Who is Katriona Taylor?
Jazz is Katriona’s passion and you can’t help being moved by her voice.
Born in London, Katriona grew up with a background of music and tennis – her father is former UK and International tennis champion Roger Taylor. Seeking intellectual fulfilment, Katriona qualified and practised as a city lawyer, before her love of music enticed her to forge a new career as a full time singer.
After gaining a Masters qualification in acting and singing at London’s prestigious Central School of Speech & Drama, and with an absolute passion for Latin music and jazz, Katriona began writing her own songs. She has produced five albums to great acclaim and her latest album, Blind Passion, will be released in 2021. Showcasing the many facets of Katriona, who is visually impaired, this 12 track album features her own original songs and celebrates the songs of blind artists such as Stevie Wonder, Jose Feliciano, Diane Schuur and Ray Charles. The album is a blend of jazz, Latin and soul styles.

Katriona spent much of her childhood in Portugal where she was introduced to Brazilian music by her mother. Her father’s keen interest in jazz introduced a life long romance with this particular genre.
Katriona’s songs draw on her love of blues, soul, Brazilian rhythms and jazz, reflecting her diverse musical influences.
Katriona soon became a singer with an established reputation for live performance, bursting on to the London jazz scene and selling out top venues such as Pizza Express Jazz Club, Cafe Royale and The Bull’s Head Jazz Club as well as performing at international gigs and festivals. Her soothing, sultry vocals did not go unnoticed and she opened for the legendary eleven-times Grammy-winning soul legend George Benson in Europe as part of his world tour.
Katriona is also a vocal coach, running courses and workshops for students as well as teaching one-to-one private lessons.
